Please Note, this is a very dry product, which is mainly used through a spreader. It can be used as a soluble but we recommended that you use warm to hot water to help it dissolve, then pour it through a strainer to remove any particles that could block the knapsack. We generally mix the required amount of iron in a jam jar with hot water, then we pour the dissolved iron through a strainer directly into the knapsack and fill up with water giving a good stir in the process.

Analysis:

  • FeSO4.H2O (Fe+30%)

Iron sulphate has long been used a plant tonic for lime-hating plants, such as heathers, rhododendrons, azaleas, conifers and camellias.  Iron sulphate helps to acidify the soil and prevent leaf yellowing.

Usage:

Iron sulphate can also be used to harden off turf, green up lawns and kill moss.

  • To green up your lawn, use at a rate of 0.5g per sqm.
  • To harden turf, use at a rate of 1.5-2g per sqm.
  • To control moss, use at a rate or 4-5g per sqm.

When using iron sulphate it is best to treat the whole lawn at once, as treating individual areas can create a visual difference between treated and untreated areas.

Iron sulphate can stain concrete and other surfaces.  Please use gloves and a mask when handling.

Keep pets off treated areas for at least a week.  Horses should not be allowed to graze treated areas for at least four weeks after treatment.
